The Fresh Meet was held on May 6th in Union, NJ. This Spring event is the first meet for 2012 and turned out to be a huge success dispite the local police forcing the event to shut down early… Big ups to the Fresh Meet crew for putting together a great event and I am looking forward to covering the next meet this summer. Canibeat presented their 2nd annual First Class Fitment show this past weekend. Compared to last year, it seemed as though the show had doubled in size along with the spectators(as if it wasn’t already hard enough to take photos). Dj’s kept the music going all day long, catered food kept our belly’s full and some RC drifting added a little action to the show. Congrats to the winners of the awesome custom trophies made with the help of CCW.
Liberty VIP hosted their second annual Black event at Raceway Park’s Fall Nationals. There was a nice showing of cars despite the weather. Low and slow, bagged or static, flush or tucked. Take your pick, they had it all. For the winners of the show, they got to take some of the more interesting trophies that I’ve seen at a car show. Enjoy the pictures!
It was literally a last minute decision for me to make the trek out to Chicago for Wekfest. After getting nagged at by my fellow peers, I bit the bullet and took off from my day job and hopped in a open seat in the Unique Auto Squad/ New Image Motorsports caravan from New Jersey to Chicago. 16 hours later and a handfull of 5 hour energy drinks, the cars finally made it. With no time to spare, the cars got cleaned up and prepped for the show the following day. Luckily for everyone, the event took place indoors. During roll-in, I watched everyone outside cleaning their cars just to have a monsoon roll through and undo everything they’ve been working so hard on, but once inside the convention center, you can see smiles across everyones faces. The quality of cars there were top notch. I always say, when building cars, it’s always about the attention to details that set you apart from everyone else and these guys really made the best effort they can. Anyways, click on the photos above to go to the gallery. Enjoy!
Raceway Parks Fall Nationals is always one of the biggest events of the year with it being last big import event in the area. Drag racers have spent countless hours getting their cars prepped for this event for a chance to win the cash prizes. The car show was packed with the hottest JDM and Euro rides and for the first time, Canibeat had a choice award to the car with the sickest stance. Things don’t end there. On stage, the Elite Camp provided music for the venue and MC Slick kept the crowd in check with the constant give aways and contest. Oh and theres more, the bikini contest had 16 of some of the hottest girls around in the smallest bikinis we could get them in to keep it pg-13. In between rounds of the bikini contest, there were performances from Black Point performing the popular “Watagatapitusberry” and Maino performing “All the above”. All in all, it was a great event and I’m expecting next years events will only be bigger.
It’s A OK in my book! (cheesy i know… shut up!)
MadMike Whiddett’s RedBull RX8 drift car has an insane offset. I just felt the need to share this. Make sure to check it out at the next Formula D event.
