I guess it wouldn’t be a New Jersey event without it being super hot and humid mixed with a little bit of rain. Apparently, FD likes to bring a heatwave with them when they come to the northeast. As everyone tried to stay hydrated and I had my SPF 90 on hand, the banked oval track of Wall Speedway filled with thick smoke. There were a few casualties during the practice session around the first sweeping turn whose wall likes to collect cars like Freddy Krueger collects souls. Keeping things interesting, partway through qualifying runs, rain swept through the track making drivers adjust to the changing conditions of the track. Luckily the rain was just light enough to get through qualifying without delay.
The Fresh Meet was held on May 6th in Union, NJ. This Spring event is the first meet for 2012 and turned out to be a huge success dispite the local police forcing the event to shut down early… Big ups to the Fresh Meet crew for putting together a great event and I am looking forward to covering the next meet this summer. Liberty VIP hosted their second annual Black event at Raceway Park’s Fall Nationals. There was a nice showing of cars despite the weather. Low and slow, bagged or static, flush or tucked. Take your pick, they had it all. For the winners of the show, they got to take some of the more interesting trophies that I’ve seen at a car show. Enjoy the pictures!
This past weekend was Raceway Park’s 15th Annual Sport Compact Spring Nationals. Big crowds, fast cars, beautiful ladies and musical concert pretty much sums up the event. Click on the photos above to jump to the gallery to see what went down on this crazy weekend. Thanks OGS and all the supported the event!
With 70 degree weather the week prior to Import Survival Series 1, there were high hopes of nice weather for the first car show of the season at Englishtowns, Raceway Park. Sadly enough, it was a brisk 30 degrees when I arrived at the track. However, the racers still came out to make those passes down the 1320 to work out the winter bugs and the show goers got to see some of their competition for the season. MC Slick and DJ L Nino held it down on stage keeping the beats bumping for the crowd.
